A Day in the Life of Bliss

Wu Tsang

A Day in the Life of Bliss (working title) is a multi-valence film project that combines science fiction, documentary, and performance art to explore how underground youth culture is evolving in the Internet age. Centering around an original story by Wu Tsang, the project takes multiple forms of video installation, performance, and a feature-length film. The story follows BLIS, a young performer who lives in a near-future world where digital avatars called LOOKS control humans through a panoptical social media platform (known as PRSM, pronounced “prism”). Produced in collaboration with many performers, DJ’s, hacktivists, and artists in different parts of the world, this project is both a document of real-life communities (which are increasingly virtual and transnational) and also a fictional staging of a resistance movement.
