CornejoPurves & Cockrell and Ybarra will talk about their practices using their Creative Capital-supported projects (and others) to illustrate their experiences in working closely with communities to bring about change through creative engagement, embedding themselves in particular neighborhoods to realize social goals, build networks and affect cultural practices.

The session will be "occupied" by students from Otis College of Art and Design’s MFA in Public Practice program, led by Suzanne Lacy (artist and Creative Capital grantee, 2002 Emerging Fields), Sara Daleiden (artist), Sally Tallant (curator) and Pablo Helguera (artist and Creative Capital grantee, 2005 Visual Arts).

After the artist presentations, there will be a short discussion among the panelists, audience and occupiers as to how social practice work might be best evaluated.
