El Doctor

Suzan Pitt

El Doctor is a 26-minute animation set in Mexico in 1940. Inspired by the drawings of Mexican artist Posada for turn-of-the-century penny magazines, the animation is graphically complex and narrative-driven, with a story told in both English and Spanish. Like Posada’s work, this darkly comic film is embedded in Mexican religion, superstition and the tradition of treating miraculous occurrences as real.
