Carl Rux

Performing Arts, 2000

A performer and published poet, Carl Hancock Rux has directed as well as written plays. In addition, he has written works for dance groups including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. He has had residencies at the University of Wisconsin, Mabou Mines, Ebenezor Experimental Theater in Sweden, and Jacob’s Pillow. Rux was also selected by New York Times Magazine as “One of Thirty Artists Under the Age of Thirty Most Likely to Influence Culture Over The Next Thirty Years.”
