George Legrady

Emerging Fields, 2002

George Legrady is a digital media and installation artist. Born in Hungary and raised in Montreal, Legrady lives in California where he is a professor of Interactive Media at UC Santa Barbara. His solo exhibitions have been presented at the Centre Pompidou in Paris; The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles; the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels; and the National Gallery of Canada. Legrady was awarded a grant in 2000 from the Daniel Langlois Foundation, a 1995 NEA Visual Arts Fellowship, and several Computer Integrated Media Awards from the Canada Council. He has lectured on digital media and related topics at museums and universities across the United States, Canada, and Europe, and he holds an MFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute.
