Opening Reception:

Part noise concert, part Burroughs’ reading tour, Decoder 2017 is the latest work conceived and directed by OBIE winner Mallory Catlett. This cut-up of sound, word, and image is generated live by cassette tape DJ and sound artist G Lucas Crane with performer Jim Findlay, who act as both fictional characters and real-time systems operators. The work features and interactive design created by Keith Skretch (video) and Ryan Holsopple (interaction). This is a work-in-progress showing of the first of three concerts: The Soft Machine, based on the Nova Trilogy. This is also part of M/F FUTURE.
