Maryhill Double

Annie Han , Daniel Mihalyo

Maryhill Double is a collaborative site-specific installation at the Maryhill Museum on Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge. Mihalyo and Han built a full-scale architectural double of the museum using common materials such as scaffolding and nylon construction netting in uncommon ways. Intending to invert and distort the viewer’s sense of spatial definition, the work is interactive, allowing spectators to ascend the scaffolding stairways, circumnavigate the building and cross the installation space by walking over the nylon netting.
