Whether you're an organization looking to partner with us or an artist looking for your own opportunities for advancement, you’ve come to the right place. Developed by artists for artists, our Professional Development Program (PDP) provides career, community and confidence building tools to help all artists become successful artists. Who We Are
Created by artists for artists, Creative Capital’s Professional Development Program empowers artists to advance their careers.
The Professional Development Program grew out of Creative Capital's work with our grantees. As part of our model of investing in the artists we support, we provide the tools and strategies they need to gain self-sufficiency as artists. We quickly found that not only were our grantees benefiting immensely from what they learned, they were sharing these lessons with their peers. This spirit of community building and resource sharing inspired us to create a full suite of high-quality professional development opportunities accessible to artists everywhere.

Artist to Artist
Our leaders are not only experts in what they teach—most are practicing artists, and many are Creative Capital awardees. Leaders introduce concepts and practical tools, then share how they are used in their own lives. This approach helps participants understand how they can use these tools themselves and it encourages artists to share resources. In our more than 10 years of working with artists across the country, we've found that this approach is instrumental in inspiring participants to see the value and potential of using the tools for themselves.
We understand the importance of both immediate and lasting impact. Our programs offer a variety of practical tools and strategies that artists can start using right away. To complement these tools, we help you develop a personalized strategy for long-term success.
Our artist-to-artist model encourages artists to work together. We believe collaboration creates vibrant and lasting arts communities nationwide. It’s why we partner with local organizations to offer our workshops and it's why we encourage a diverse participant group. Workshop size is intentionally small, letting participants really get to know each other and form connections.
We are dedicated to continuous improvement and want you to be too. Between our full suite of workshops, webinars and online resources, you will always find new opportunities. Our commitment to rigorous self-evaluation ensures that our curriculum encompasses the newest and most relevant ideas and information to help artists thrive in an increasingly complex world.
