This workshop will not only help you get prepared for the upcoming tax deadline, but will also give you the tips and tools you need to keep your receipts, expenses, and business records organized throughout the year. Accountant and attorney Sandra Karas will cover all the important tax topics for artists: record keeping, audits and preparation, W2s vs. 1099s, home office/studio allowances, a variety of unusual deductions only known to artists, and more.

Sandra Karas
is an attorney in private practice in the areas of Tax, Financial Planning, Estates, Trusts, Contracts and Business Law.  She is a frequent lecturer on tax, financial, budget, debt management and long-term planning, trusts and advanced directives to individuals, small businesses, the arts and entertainment industries as well as to the legal and accounting communities. Her firm
focuses on self-employed individuals and those who work as freelancers in the arts. Ms. Karas has a BFA from Ithaca College, a MA from Schiller International University in Berlin, a MFA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD from Syracuse University.
