Jan 18 2017 - Apr 16 2017

Minnesota Museum of American Art
332 N. Robert Street
St. Paul,

This traveling solo exhibition will include a range of works pulled from Ken Gonzales-Day's seminal work on the history of lynching in the United States. The exhibition will feature his short film "Run Up" as well as the photographic series which accompanies it. The series was created in 2015 and recreated scenes based on new research uncovered around the 1920 lynching of Charles Valento, the last documented lynching of a Latino in California. The exhibition will also included selections from the Erased Lynching Series and the Searching for California Hang Trees Series, as well as a series of portraits taken of young men who stand in for the historic victims.
