Faith Wilding

subRosa

Emerging Fields, 2002



Faith Wilding has been working as an installation, media and visual artist since 1972. She is also the co-founder of subRosa. Her installations and exhibitions includeKnowing BodiesDuration PerformanceFlux Performance and Natural Parables. Her work has been supported by a Massachusetts Artist Fellowship, National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships in Media and a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts grant for works on paper. Wilding is currently a visiting scholar at Brown University’s PembrokeCenter for Teaching and Research on Women, and a Graduate Faculty member of the MFA in Visual Arts Program at Vermont College of Fine Arts.

2014:

Wilding presents Fearful Symmetries, her first retrospective exhibition, at Threewalls in Chicago, IL  

2012:

subRosa's contributions to the cultural program "Soft Power: Art and technology in the era of biopolitics," curated by Maria Ptqk, are included in a new catalog.

2011:

"Bodies Unlimited A decade of subRosa’s art practice" is published in Vol 28 of n.paradoxa: international feminist art journal.

2011:

subRosa premieres new installation, Feminist Matter(s): Propositions and Undoings, in the Pittsburgh Biennial at the Miller Gallery, curated by Astria Suparak.

2009:

subRosa's ConstructaVulva piece tours with EveryBody!: Visual resistance in feminist health movements, 1969-2009, curated by Bonnie Fortune.

2009:

subRosa presents on their work to "The Scholar & Feminist Conference XXXIV- The Politics of Reproduction: New Technologies of Life," Barnard College, New York.

2008:
