LOCATION

Green-Wood
500 25th Street
Brooklyn, NY

FORMAT

Performance

Take a journey down the rabbit hole, using Green-Wood’s 478 acres as a spectacular theatrical backdrop. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, we present a modern take on the idea of wonderland – a Fabled City, a place of dizzying possibilities and consequences, a world where saints and sinners rest together amidst otherworldly beauty. Features Creative Capital artists Vernon Reid, Queen Godis and Arturo Vidich.

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night during the month of June from 7-11pm.

Week 1: June 4, 5 & 6

- A solo guitar requiem for Eric Garner by fellow Staten Island resident and two-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist/activist Vernon Reid, founder of the critically acclaimed band, Living Colour.

Week 2: June 11, 12 & 13

- Poet/performance art therapist Queen GodIs offers a time traveler’s gender-gravity defying and cosmic coming-of-age story

- Performance and installation artist Arturo Vidich has constructed hypnotic sound and light machines that evoke an electro-acoustic seascape of sound and dancing shadows. The work addresses illusions of duality between the expressed and unexpressed, with the body as the dividing line.
