2012 Film/Video

Film/Video includes experimental, documentary and narrative film and video, animation, installations, and interdisciplinary projects.

In March 2011, we received 1,476 letters of inquiry through our open call for submissions. During the eight-month, three-phase review process, 351 of the submissions advanced to the application phase, of which 101 were chosen for a final panel round. Twenty-three Film/Video projects by artists based in 16 different communities throughout the U.S. were then selected for funding and announced in January 2012.

2012 Visual Arts

Visual Arts includes painting, sculpture, works on paper, installation, photography, contemporary crafts, interdisciplinary projects and public art.

In March 2011, we received 1,771 letters of inquiry through our open call for submissions. During the eight-month, three-phase review process, 331 of the submissions advanced to the application phase, of which 100 were chosen for a final panel round. Twenty-three Visual Arts projects by artists based in 14 different communities throughout the U.S. were then selected for funding and announced in January 2012.
