At Creative Capital, we believe that one of the greatest strengths of the arts community is the willingness to share resources, teach one another and support one another. We partner with organizations nationwide to provide additional services to our grantees and to administer our Professional Development Program. As a permanent laboratory for best practices in artist support, we are always seeking new opportunities for our grantees and our wider community through new partners. Stay tuned to this page as we add more!
Programs Administered by Creative Capital
Unique opportunities for grantees and artists nationwide are hallmarks of Creative Capital’s service to the artist community. Creative Capital provides the programs below through institutional partners:
Creative Capital Loan Fund for the Performing Arts
Education Affiliates Federal Credit Union administers Creative Capital’s Loan Fund for the Performing Arts. In 2011, Creative Capital launched the fund to make project-based loans to grantees whose Creative Capital projects are complete. Loans may support of the creation or production of a performative work. The fund is made possible by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
Professional Development Program (PDP) Presenting Partners
PDP has worked with more than 60 organizations nationwide to bring its professional development workshops to individual artists since 2003. Creative Capital is proud to count these organizations among our institutional partners. Click here for the full list.
Through special memberships and partnerships, Creative Capital is able to provide our grantees with access to important opportunities beyond our own offerings, serving as a creative resource hub to our artists and connecting them to even more resources and tools. Our artists have special access to resources and advice ranging from crowdfunding to health insurance to legal counsel through the organizations below:
Kickstarter: Visit Creative Capital’s Curated Page to see grantees’ current and past Kickstarter projects.
United States Artists: Creative Capital is a USA Projects Partner, giving our grantees access to the organization’s crowdfunding tools. Visit our USA page to learn more about our grantees’ projects.
IndieGoGo: Creative Capital has partnered with the website IndieGoGo to help our grantees create online fundraising campaigns.
Services to Artists
Fractured Atlas: Our grantees enjoy membership to Fractured Atlas, which provides a range of services and advocacy for artists and arts organizations.
Association of Artist Communities: Creative Capital grantees are also each members of the Alliance of Artist Communities, an international network of artists' communities, colonies and residency programs. Membership in the Alliance provides grantees with access to centralized information about these programs.
Creative Capital provides grantees with access to monthly phone-in clinics with professionals from multiple sectors. Through scheduled calls, grantees can begin to address challenges in their professional practice or determine that they need more in-depth counsel in certain areas. Creative Capital has contracted with the following organizations to facilitate these clinics:
• Legal Planning Advisory Clinic: Lisa Digernes, Associate, Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard
• Financial Planning Advisory Clinic: Jerry Barbalatt, President, Parker Allen & Company, Inc.
• Public Relations Advisory Clinic: Carla Sacks and Krista Williams, Sacks & Co
