| PRESS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE INTERNATIONAL SURVEY OF DIGITAL ART HIGHLIGHTS WORK BY CREATIVE CAPITAL NEW MEDIA ARTISTS Grantees are included in the 13-day conference Vectors: Digital Art of Our Time, celebrating The New York Digital Salonäs 10th anniversary NEW YORK, NY (April 22, 2003) - Creative Capital Foundation will be represented at Vectors: Digital Art of Our Time, a conference in New York presented by The New York Digital Salon from April 22 to May 25, 2003. Four emerging arts grantees were among those selected by a group of new media curators for an art exhibition that includes a timeline of the history of digital art, and was featured in a special issue of Leonardo, the Journal of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology. In addition, two grantees will participate in Vectorsä Digital Art and Culture Symposium, a 2-day series of panel discussions. Participants are: Eduardo Kac, showing Genesis, 1999, a transgenic Net installation; George Legrady, selected for Pocket Full of Memories, 2001, a digitized image data project; Mark Napier, presenting the website project RIOT, 1999; John F. Simon, Jr., who is exhibiting the website project Every Icon, 1997, and moderating the panel ÜThe Artist as Programmer¹; and Ricardo Dominguez, a panelist for ÜNew Media Performance and Music.¹ About Creative Capital Founded in January 1999, Creative Capital Foundation is a national nonprofit organization that supports individual artists pursuing innovative approaches to form and content in the fields of performing and visual arts, film/video, and emerging arts.
